CRAB MENTALITY

"Life is not easy.
There are lots of people who would let you down.
We must learn to fight them back and
prove to them that they can't let us down."-- Marian C. Martinez

Nowadays people have different goals, plans, ambition, philosophy, likes and dislikes.
There are many temptations around us and we are capable of being tempted. We all are different from each other of course we are from different races and we have different cultures.

Filipinos have this attitude which is "CRAB MENTALITY". No matter what your status in life
you can also be a victim of this crab mentality that we have. We can't really deny the fact that this crab mentality is one of the bad qualities of the Filipinos.

All of us dreamed to become the best in every aspect of our lives. There would be lots of competitions ahead. We join some of them to win. We all want to win the game and get the awards (medals, golden cups, trophies and the like) as a reward for our hard work. We are all born to fight.

Of course when we are about to get our goals everything changes. At first they're (friends) all supportive and always there for you whatever happens.

This is where the conflict begins...

People will start to drag us down so that they can be at the top. We may deny it but we possess this attitude. We all strive to win the game. We strive for success until we realize that it's not enough. We use our dark evil attitude: backstabbing, lies, gossips and the like (crab mentality). We destroy everything (friendships, relationships...) just for the prize to the top. We all become greedy.

We don't realize that FRIENDS, memories, relationships, good times and bad times, laughters, cries and the like are more than the achievements that we want... that we kill for.

All we have to do is to see this what we call evil side of ours. We have to see it and see the negative side of it. We need friends to survive as the old saying goes "No man is an island".
